Is the World Ready for a $2,000 Baseball Cap?
08/12/07 23:15
BY LARRY KNOWLES
SEPTEMBER 5, 2007
SAN DIEGO (TNA) – If you thought $20 was a lot to pay for a baseball cap, how does $2,000 strike you? A San Diego company is offering what is believed to be the world’s most expensive baseball cap. At $1999, the Zerino “Elita,” a black cotton-and-leather ball cap with a 22-karat-gold top button, is nearly 20 times as expensive as the high-end hats sold by competing cap makers. At least you get a nice mahogany box with the hat for 2000 big ones.
For the price of the Elita, a baseball enthusiast could attend a whole lot of major league games – and in style, too. A Yankees fan, for example, could buy seasons tickets for two ($1,620), an MP3 player to listen to the play-by-play ($150), and a Yankees cap ($27), and still have $200 left over for hot dogs and beer. The question is, why would someone pay two grand for a ball cap?

Breakfast with a twist! Great item to create a long
lasting impression with Moms and Kids. Makes meals
and snacks fun while reinforcing the brand.
The Japanese manufacturer had the tremendous
idea of combining a moment of pleasure with a brand
or logo by launching a promotional toaster.
The concept is quite simple: You can have your toaster customized with a logo or text printed on it, but the funniest thing is that it comes with a customized metal sheet you insert on the toaster.
The result: you have your logo toasted on bread! it's incredible!

Working for Peanuts

Now here’s a branded premium with a small imprint but
a big impact - Peanut Business Cards. Some very
cleaver people in Japan have figured out how to get
an imprint on peanuts.
"For people looking to liven up the formal rigmarole surrounding the exchange of business cards in Japan, Arigatou Co., Ltd., a company specializing in the sale of laser-etched food products, offers “Taberu Me” edible business cards printed on peanuts.
Laser-etched beans and nuts -- Taberu Me cards are created using Arigatou’s high-grade CO2 laser engraver nicknamed “Shiawase-kun,” which can etch up to 700 characters per second on hard organic materials like beans, nuts, rice and pasta and which has been optimized to print clean-looking logos, names and telephone numbers on the irregular surfaces of peanut shells.
